Countertops in the mountains
Working in the Carolina mountains
Most of what we install out here goes into a house at the end of a road that was not built for a truck. Gravel drives, switchbacks, a turnaround that is really somebody's yard — we template and install in it every week, and our crews plan the carry before they plan the cut. If you are worried your driveway is the problem, it almost certainly is not; tell us about it when you call and we will come look.
New builds
A good part of our Cullowhee work comes through builders and cabinet shops rather than direct, and we are comfortable in that lane — we will coordinate with your cabinet installer on timing, work off their drawings, and hold a template slot that moves with the job rather than against it.
Local history
A bit of Cullowhee history
Cullowhee lies on the Tuckasegee River. Western Carolina University began in Cullowhee in the late 1880s as Cullowhee Academy and has had state support since 1893. In the Caney Fork community off NC 107, Judaculla Rock is a soapstone boulder carved with petroglyphs and tied in Cherokee tradition to the giant Judaculla.

Gorgeous options to choose from, good installation and service
We love Western NC. The tradeoff is that some things are much harder to find than in a big city, or at least that there is far less selection. With that being said Murphy Granite Outlet is an exception to that.
Murphy Granite Outlet provided us an excellent experience with purchasing new countertops for our home. They were always on time with and kept us notified of their progress, scheduling times that were convenient for us.
